Tips and Suggestions:
Buy ingredients, especially meat, in bulk, so stretch your budget.
Use freezer bags if at all possible. They are cheap. Squeeze out as much air as you can and freeze them flat. Disposable pans work great for anything that can’t be put in a freezer bag.
Don’t stack your meals in the freezer until they are completely frozen. Stacking them makes it hard for the center to freeze in a timely manner.
The following items don’t freeze well. If they are part of your meal, separate the meal out and let the people receiving the meal do the combining: cooked rice and pasta, tortillas, fried foods, potatoes (frozen hash browns are a good substitute), egg and cream based sauces.
